The flower bud of Syzygium aromaticum (clove) is one of the most important drugs used in indigenous medicine in India, especially in Unani medicine. Syzygium aromaticum is an effective remedy for various ailments, and it is used as anti-gas activity, anticoagulant activity, mucus clearing activity and anesthetic activity. Antimicrobial activity of aqueous, ethanol and acetone extracts of Syzygium aromaticum against two gram negative bacteria Pseudomonas sp. and Proteus vulgaris were investigated by paper disc diffusion method. Phytochemical analysis of aqueous, ethanol and acetone extracts of Syzygium aromaticum revealed the presence of saponins, carbohydrates, glycosides, flavonoids, tannins, lipids, sterols and alkaloids. The present investigation revealed that acetone and ethanol extracts had more potent activity than the aqueous extract.Keywords

A Lipoxygenase inhibitor is a drug which slows down or stops the action of the lipoxygenase enzyme. More precisely, the term is almost always used to describe an inhibitor of the arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase enzyme, which transforms EFAs into leukotrienes. Examples include-Azelastine diethylcarbamazine, nordihydroguaiaretic acid, zileuton, In this study we have investigated that the oxidation of various substrates (linoleic acid, methyl linoleate, phosphatidylcholine, isolated LDL, and human plasma) by the arachidonate 15-lipoxygenases from rabbit reticulocytes and soybeans aiming at elucidating the effects of substrate, lipoxygenase and reaction milieu on the contribution and mechanism of random oxidation and also the effect of antioxidant.The complete descriptors data set of all compounds were considered as independent variable and biological activity as dependent variable www. ncss. com software was used to generate QSAR models by step wise multiple linear regression analysis statistical measures used were n-number of compounds in regression, in correlation coefficients F-test (Fischer's value for statistical significance). SE-standard error of estimations and correlation matrix to show correlation. This is clearly predict that our proposed tetra parametric model in most appropriate model for modeling inhibition activity log1/IC50, for lipoxygenase inhibitor set of 41 compounds. Finally I obtained my results, that is suggesting that proposed combination QSAR models could be useful in predicting the Lypoxygenase inhibiting activity of Arachidonate 5-Lypoxygenase enzyme.Keywords

Hibiscus rosa sinensis belongs to the family Malvaceae. It is widely cultivated in the tropics as an ornamental plants and has several form depending on the color of flower. It is also used for sometimes in paper making and was used as an anti asthmatic traditionally. Our present study has predict that there were no significant gain or loss in the body weight of the rats as observed throughout the experiment. There were no regular variations in the average 24-hour water and food intake of the rats of both control and treated group monitored. No mortality was seen in any of the groups either control or treated. The initial body weight of rats is slightly increasing both control and treated animals but no significant difference were seen in the treated groups. In haematology parameters of Hibiscus rosasinensis treated animals there is no reduction were seen in the values of T-RBC, no reduction were seen in the values of Hgb. This study represents the information about the treatment of asthma disease by the tribal of Achanakmar- Amarkantak Biosphere Reserve, India. A total of 9 plant species belonging to 9 genera and 8 families were recorded. The documented medicinal plants were labeled alphabetically with their local name, family name, plant part used and mode of administration.The documented of these medicinal plants against asthma reveals that these tribal people are still dependent on forest vegetation for their life care. Thus, this type of ethnomedicinal studies appears to be useful for the research on medicinal plants for the betterment of humankind.Keywords
